“Mom I am so bored!” Is this a familiar phrase you hear during the summer vacation months? Children become so accustomed to being busy every moment of the school year that they may consider the down time during their summer vacation boring instead of relaxing. Some of the various camps offered at the Dallas YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association) may provide a fun and inexpensive diversion for your children during the summer. You may want to check your Dallas insurance policy for your home to make sure you have coverage should your child lose a valuable item while participating in the camp.
This summer, the Dallas YMCA is likely to offer traditional day camps, pre-school camps and summer enrichment camps that are designed to challenge children academically and physically. Specialty Clinics are also available which provide learning adventures in the arts and sciences. There are even special camps for teenagers, which offer activities in hiking, swimming, rock climbing, community service, sports and mentoring.
The Dallas YMCA also offers overnight camps that include sailing, water skiing, canoeing, rifle and horseback riding. There is even a camp designed for children with special needs. Field trips to downtown Dallas are available through the Urban Adventure Camp and camping on a lake is offered at a north Dallas location.
All these activities do pose some risk. Do you have health insurance in place in case of injury? Does your home policy cover any electronic or digital items your child might take to camp? Speak to your Dallas insurance agent or directly to your insurer if you’re not certain about your levels of coverage.
